Pakistan and India have had strained relations for quite some time now on multiple grounds. But when a global crisis hits, the entertainment personalities from both industries always come together to lend a helping hand to each other. The outbreak of the coronavirus infection has been no different. With everything shutting down in both rival nations, being kind is the only hope that people are holding onto right now. Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has previously made headlines for his not-so-warm words about Pakistan and its people. However, putting all hard feelings behind, the B-town veteran posted a rather concerning message on Twitter yesterday.
With all due respect, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan should also advice his country to take adequate precautions. People of Pakistan are also dear to us. Once we were one. We are concerned too. This is a global crisis. No ego matter this. We love you guys. Humanity zindabad !— Rishi Kapoor (@chintskap) March 19, 2020
Taking to the micro-blogging site, he shared a piece of advice for Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan. He requested the premier to take adequate precautions in this global crisis. The Kapoor & Sons star wrote, “With all due respect, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan should also advice his country to take adequate precautions. People of Pakistan are also dear to us. Once we were one. We are concerned too. This is a global crisis. No ego matter this. We love you guys. Humanity Zindabad!”
Thank you so much for your lovely wishes. Much love and respect to you. You are right, we are all in this together and this is not about countries, but about humanity. Humanity Zindabad! Hope we overcome this threat soon. Love and best wishes to you— Shafqat Amanat Ali (@ShafqatAmanatA) March 19, 2020
This is the attitude we all need to have, respecting each others nations regardless of our political differences— Ali Kazmi (@Ali_kazmi110) March 19, 2020
When Khan addressed the nation amid growing fear and increasing cases surrounding the coronavirus, he mentioned that the federal government was not in favour of imposing a complete in the country as it does not have enough resources to do so. “We have daily wagers in the country. How would they survive if we lockdown the country. They will die of hunger. We have decided to ask people to impose self-discipline on them.” While it seems to be a catch-22 situation, Rishi nonetheless urged him to take necessary precautions.

Artists including Shafqat Amanat Ali appreciated the Kabhi Kabhi actor’s concern for the people of Pakistan. He responded with, “Thank you so much for your lovely wishes. Much love and respect to you. You are right, we are all in this together and this is not about countries, but about humanity. Humanity Zindabad! Hope we overcome this threat soon. Love and best wishes to you.” Another user wrote, “Agree 100 %, this should bring all of us together than ever before.”
One social media user lauded Ali and Kapoor’s efforts in promoting peace between Pakistan and India. I agree with you Shafqat Amanat Ali. Humanity matters and your reply to respected Rishi sahab is also great and you are an asset to us Pakistanis! Proud to have great singers like you in our country!” Another followed suit, adding, “This is the attitude we all need to have, respecting each other’s nations regardless of our political differences.” Co-founder Austin Arts and Drama Initiative, Sumaiya Malik wrote, “Happy to see intelligent #Pakistani actors on Twitter replying to heartfelt concern shown by Uncle Rishi with equal humility and concern.”
