Sonam Kapoor is completely staying home for quarantine with husband Anand Ahuja as she returned from London. Sonam Kapoor has been sharing various public service messages on her social media platforms to motivate people regarding social distancing. She recently shared a post regarding the animals who were suffering the impacts of human ignorance and insensitivity despite not being directly affected by COVID-19. She shared a circular and tweet by the Congress leader Maneka Gandhi regarding the grave issue.
According to the circular,
‘Stray dogs, cows, and birds can neither get nor give Coronavirus to humans. However in the event of a lockdown, if they are not fed many will die creating another kind of problem.I have asked all animal welfare workers to feed the animals during this period. I will be doing the same.’
The tweet was about the animals and birds who could possibly die in the pet shops as their owners were locking their shops with poor animals and birds still inside.
Sonam Kapoor requested her fans and followers to feed the stray animals and let the dog food come in. She said,
‘To whomsoever it concerns please read this. If I could go and feed the stray animals I would. Also my heartfelt request to please allow dog food to be available: the trucks that carry them haven’t been allowed to come through the state borders. It’s my heartfelt request.’
She also encouraged everyone to do the very best they can when someone asked her what she was doing her best to contribute to the health sector.
I’m doing my best. Have already contributed to the best of my ability . But will be doing more. I encourage others also to do more. https://t.co/az5OQ7EcFd— Sonam K Ahuja (@sonamakapoor) March 24, 2020
She had also tweeted about the stigmatization of health workers. “The kind of messages and tweets I’m seeing from the service industry and the medical industry are heartbreaking,” she said, “They are facing so much stigmatisation and neglect. We need to applaud them not treat them this way. I’m so ashamed of the People who are doing this”.
