Experts have always recommended eating fruits so as to enjoy their freshness and putting to use their nutritional value completely. However, there are certain foods that should be avoided during the monsoon weather as some of these foods are highly likely to contain germs.
For example, during the monsoon season, leafy green vegetables should be avoided because the grime and dampness that they contain are highly susceptible to germs. Instead, opt for chicken and mutton to satiate your craving for non-vegetarian food. If in the case it becomes essential to eat sea food, they ensure that you consume only the freshest variety of it and take extra care to cook them well.
3. Fresh juices and juices from road side vendors
Any fresh food items that have had a long exposure to the monsoon air should be avoided. Roadside vendors will have had the fruits cut up well in advance, which could have come in contact with contaminated air. Stick to fresh fruit juice prepared at home and consume it instantly. Instead, stick to warm beverages like green tea and ginger tea and keep a bottle of water or nimbu paani handy. Your digestive system will thank you for it later. It is also advised to go easy on dairy products as they can take a toll on your digestion.
5. Fried food
Yup, you read correctly! While fried food gains much popularity and is most enjoyable in the rainy season, it is one of those items that need to be avoided at all costs. The humidity in the air caused by the monsoon season causes our digestion process to slow down and fried food can cause gastronomical complications like bloating and stomach upset. Extra salty food also causes water retention.
