BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath said on Monday that unemployment is the biggest challenge before the Congress government in the state. Nath also said that he felt sorry to witness that development could not reach the Chambal area in the last 37 years.
“Today’s youth crave for work, not commission. Farmers have got justice through loan waiver but, to provide jobs to the wandering unemployed youths is the biggest challenge before the state. During the last 15 years of BJP rule, more industries closed than opened. Now we are trying to bring investment in the state”, said Nath addressing a women convention and Raksha Bandhan celebrations in Bhind.
The chief minister said that women have an important role to play in strengthening the economy of the state. They can start a home business and small entrepreneur besides, taking care of their family. They can play an important role to economically strengthen their family.
“Women played an important role in the formation of the new Congress government in Madhya Pradesh. There were challenges before the new government as the outgoing BJP government gifted us several problems and an empty coffer. But we began with farm welfare, waived off loans of 19 lakh farmers and would write off loans of remaining 18 lakh farmers in the coming phase”, said Nath.
The chief minister also hit out at the BJP for poor development in the Chambal region. Nath said, “I am visiting Bhind and Chambal region after a long time, almost 37 years. Unfortunately, I did not find any change. During 15-year rule, the BJP government did not bring development in the Chambal region. This is very sad and unfortunate. We will change history.”
Nath also dubbed the BJP as a party of criticism. He said during its rule, BJP was a government of promises and assurances which were never fulfilled. “BJP has nothing to do with the welfare taken up by Congress. It is criticising everything. The BJP during its rule in MP was a government of `Ghoshna’ (promises). Now, it has turned out to be a part of `Alochna’ (criticism)”, said Nath.
In coming days, he said, Congress government will take crucial decisions to promote agriculture, investment, industries and youth welfare. Congress government do not believe in the big announcement but, in the implementation of programmes. “We have set an example by showing our `Niti’ (policy) and `Niyat’ (intention).
BJP has left with only one job to cry foul over decisions by the Congress government. They (BJP) do not use their eyes and ears but, their mouth only to criticise the government”, said Nath.
The chief minister also recalled welfare schemes launched by the government. He also felicitated girls and distributed them certificates of “Ladli Laxmi’ scheme.
